Laughter Arts Foundation The Laughter Arts Foundation (LAF) was founded with several purposes in mind. The first is to help provide entertainment to those who may not be able to afford it. Second, LAF wants to help further the variety performing arts through funding, managing, and encouraging workshops, festivals, and performances where experts and professionals may pass along to others their skills and knowledge. LAF's third purpose is to help others raise funds for worthy causes through variety arts' performances. To further these causes, LAF organizes shows at places like nursing homes; presents MotionFest, a semi-annual convention for professional variety performers; and sponsors charitable performances for other organizations.
