Our China Journey
On September 3, 2003, my Mommy, her friend
"Aunt Diney" and My Big Sister, Taylor left Virginia to travel to
China and get me. They spent a couple of days in Beijing seeing the sights
. . .

You
know Mommy HAD to see the Beijing Pandas! They put on quite a show
for us.
Taylor
climbed
The Great Wall of China to her own song she composed: "Up the
Mountain we go, Ho, Ho!" |
The
Summer Palace was very beautiful and it was a gorgeous day for our visit. |
Tiananmen
Square was awesome! You just can't imagine how big it was from mere
pictures. |
. . . then they traveled to Changsha
to MEET ME! We did some sightseeing
in Changsha . . .

This
is some of the beautiful architecture we saw at "The University"
where Chairman Mao studied.
And
no trip to Changsha would be complete without seeing a statue of their
famous son. |
One
of the picturesque gazebos on "The Island". |
Changsha
is renowned for its embroidery. Watching these ladies sit and stitch
by only the available daylight was incredible! |
. . . before I boarded my first airplane
to Guangzhou for saw some more adventures!

The
carvings and architecture were amazing!
At
the "Beautiful Mountain", we saw a more casual side of the local
population. Yes - they DO wear shorts! |
Guangzhou
at night was spectacular! |
And
of course, no trip to China is complete without S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G! And
Mommy and Aunt Diney had a great time with our friends at "The China
Doll". |
