Our China Journey

On September 3, 2003, my Mommy, her friend "Aunt Diney" and My Big Sister, Taylor left Virginia to travel to China and get me.  They spent a couple of days in Beijing seeing the sights . . .

You know Mommy HAD to see the Beijing Pandas!  They put on quite a show for us.

Taylor climbed
The Great Wall of China to her own song she composed: "Up the Mountain we go, Ho, Ho!"

The Summer Palace was very beautiful and it was a gorgeous day for our visit.

Tiananmen Square was awesome!  You just can't imagine how big it was from mere pictures.

. . . then they traveled to Changsha to MEET ME!  We did some sightseeing in Changsha . . .

This is some of the beautiful architecture we saw at "The University" where Chairman Mao studied.

And no trip to Changsha would be complete without seeing a statue of their famous son.

One of the picturesque gazebos on "The Island".

Changsha is renowned for its embroidery.  Watching these ladies sit and stitch by only the available daylight was incredible!

. . . before I boarded my first airplane to Guangzhou for saw some more adventures!

The carvings and architecture were amazing!

At the "Beautiful Mountain", we saw a more casual side of the local population.  Yes - they DO wear shorts!

Guangzhou at night was spectacular!

And of course, no trip to China is complete without S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G!  And Mommy and Aunt Diney had a great time with our friends at "The China Doll".
