Our Journey of the Heart |
|
The Meeting of Our Hearts On September 7, 2003, Gong JinHua, the Vice Director of ChangDe SWI gathered five of my "China Sisters" and me and took us all for a L-O-N-G ride to this BIG hotel in Changsha. They carried us into a room where lots of very odd-looking people were nervously waiting. We were all trying to figure out what was going to happen next when I heard my name called and my "Auntie" placed me into the arms of a very tall lady with brown hair, a red and white shirt and a BIG smile on her face. She kept saying "MaMa" and pointing to herself. I did the only thing I could think of . . . SCREAMED bloody murder!
"MaMa" and this little girl she called "Taylor" took me out into the hallway and started to sing to me. It was a song I had never heard before - something about "Wouldn't it Be Loverly?" - but it made me feel a lot better. "MaMa" told me that it was the very first song she sang to Taylor when they met, so I decided I didn't really need to scream any more. After a few minutes, we went down that hall and into another room and Taylor and I tried to get to know each other.
After a bottle, some interesting new food (broccoli?!) and these cool cups, I decided that these people were going to be OK. I guess I can relax a little and give them a smile!
