Ni Hao
(That means "Hello" in Chinese)

My name is Kendal Lauren Han Davis.   I'm so glad that you found my Web site and I invite you to share my "Journey of the Heart" from China to America.

This picture was taken in March, 2003.  It was my "official" adoption photo.

Don't you just love this panda Outfit?  I wore this to our Notary appointment on September 8th (just like my sister, Taylor did in 2001).

Here I am in our hotel room in Changsha.  Look at those dimples!

"Aunt" Diney commented that the only time I seemed truly happy was when I was eating!

I was born on May 22, 2002 in the Hunan Province of the People's Republic of China.  I lived in the ChangDe Social Welfare Institute with lots of other little boys and girls until September 7, 2003.  On that day, my Mommy, my Big Sister Taylor and our "Aunt" Diney came to China to meet me and take me home to America.

My Chinese name was Chang Han Juan:
Chang (that was my surname) and it was the name of my Welfare Home
  Han means Cherish
  Juan means Beautiful

My American name is a special one that Mommy and Daddy picked before they ever met me: Kendal Lauren Davis.  They just liked the way it sounded.  (Plus Mommy checked and the domain name, kendal-davis.com was available on the Web!  She couldn't have a Web site for Taylor, and not create one for me, now could she?!).   Then they added "Han" because they "cherished" me from the moment they began the adoption process - even before I was born - and so I would always remember my Chinese heritage.

Mommy and Daddy received "THE CALL" from Marianne Adams of Children's Hope International on July 3, 2003 to tell them that they had another little "China Doll" waiting for them in Hunan.  They first saw my beautiful face two days later in the "official" announcement they received from Children's Hope International.  Mommy sent announcements to all of our family and friends to share the wonderful news.

She and Daddy began preparing for the trip.  Daddy took a few days off to help get ready, but he had to stay home this time.  Mommy's friend Diane Monaco ("Aunt" Diney) traveled with Mommy and Taylor to come get me.  Take a peek at Our China Journey for some pictures of our trip and my beautiful ChangDe.  Mommy kept a journal on her trip and sent several chronicles to our family and friends.

Let me introduce you to my Forever Family (you can see their pictures in our Family Photo Album):

My Mommy and Daddy are Karen and Michael Davis.

My Big Sister is Taylor Lynn Pan Davis.  She was born in China, too and has already made her wonderful "Journey of the Heart".   You can get to know her by visiting her Web site www.taylor-davis.com,

My Doggie Sister is Tiana.  She's a B-I-G, furry, 126-pound Alaskan Malamute.

Thanks again for visiting my Web site and sharing our "Journey of the Heart".  Be sure to send us an email if you get a chance!
