ICU & Rescue
I operate an ICU for boas / balls, taking in b-grades, preemies, non-feeders, runts, injured, sick and those that fail to thrive from well established, reputable breeders.
I also accept select local rescues. While Iwould like to rescue all Boas / Balls in need, IBD is an ever present threat. I'm not properly equipped or experienced to offer this care to other species.
These animals require specialized time-consuming care
and quarantine procedures that most breeders cannot provide. My track record
is very good, saving many "hopeless when shipped," but a few are now
Heaven's
Angels.
All transactions are strictly confidential, no source information will be released (without permission), & no negative reports or publicity of any form generated.
If you have animals fitting the above description, please contact us.
Most rescues are placed locally, some become a part of my collection, the rest I place at or below costs, without contracts or restrictions (except in rare cases).
A Tribute to a Lovely Lady, Mercy who was never given a good chance.
As I sit here today writing this I can only hope those who read it and have a sick or problem snake will take it some where it can be treated if they are unable to before it's too late. I lost the battle with Mercy last night. Although it brought many tears, my hope it that someone will learn from her so that another may be saved.
Mercy came to me on Monday, July 31, 2006. I was told that she stopped eating 6 months prior. When she arrived she was so lifeless and couldn't even hold up her head. She had a fungal skin infection, stuck on shed that looked to have been there awhile, RI & was skin & bones. I did a Taheebo soak on her to re-hydrate her after removing some of the stuck shed so that her body could absorb. After the soak, later that night she was given egg yolk, amino complex and baytril. She looked somewhat better. Tuesday she was given more Baytril & pedialyte. Wednesday she was given another dose of Baytril & egg yolk. She really appeared to be getting better, but as I have always been told sometimes they seem to get better before they die. I guess this was true with Mercy. Thursday night she became one of Heaven's Angels. As hard as it was for me to lose this battle I strongly feel that if I had gotten her 2-3 months ago she would have survived. Let this be a lesson learned.
