Pratt Fine Art Center was founded in 1976 by the City of Seattle's Department of Parks and Recreation to provide visual arts training in the Central District, Seattle's most diverse neighborhood. Pratt has grown to serve over 3500 students and over 500 working artists each year in the areas of glass, jewelry, sculpture, stonecarving, wood-working, painting, and drawing. The Seattle Metals Guild site for news, exhibitions, events, and workshops in the Northwest Society of North American Goldsmiths Society of North American Goldsmith produces Metalsmith Magazine, and provides educational opportunities. 1426 Studios 1426 S. Jackson St. Studios is located about a mile from downtown Seattle, near Pratt Fine Arts Center. The studios were founded in 1994, and are currently the workplace for over 40 visual artists.
