I wanted to present a page explaining or presenting so many of the things that I find interesting and give meaning and pleasure to my life. I find this difficult now with my attentions so wide spread and diffused. I've been having difficulty re-doing my web site and must admit that this page is of a lesser priority to some of the others. What follows for now is just an outline that I will try to fill in some detail and substance as time goes on.
I really enjoy following science as an amateur. I regularly read publications such as Scientific American which presents things on about the level that I can easily deal with. I really enjoy TV documentaries such as PBS's NOVA. I like visiting the JPL and NASA web sites. I am currently reading a book titled "Life as We do not Know It" by Peter Ward. I find it fulfilling to know more about the fantastic universe around and inside me from which we all spring.
Living in Colorado, its great to get out to wilderness areas to hike or cross-country ski. I don't seem to do enough of that lately. I also enjoy bicycling (on road or established dirt trail - not mountain, single track type ...) and have spent some time exploring the expanding system of bike paths and trails that are beginning to connect the local suburbs where I live.
Mentioned here for completeness; I already have much of this site devoted to it.
