Midnight Homebrewers' League

Carroll County, Maryland's homebrew club since 1994

Larry Hitchcock, one of our club's founding members and former Treasurer For Life, passed away at the age of 49 on May 7, 2007 from internal injuries he sustained in a single-vehicle automobile accident.

The loss of Larry's friendship has been felt by everyone in our club.  We all knew and remember Larry as a kind, thoughtful and outgoing soul, who cherished his wife and two daughters, relished the company of his friends, and who was always eager to help others share his enthusiasm for the homebrewing hobby.

We'll never brew another beer without knowing that Larry is looking over our shoulder, smiling with approval.  Larry, here's to you!

The Midnight Homebrewers’ League is a homebrew club based in Westminster (Carroll County), Maryland.  Our members are drawn primarily from Carroll County, with representation from Baltimore, Howard and Harford Counties, and from Pennsylvania and Virginia.  We are from all walks of life, but we all have at least two things in common: the love of good beer (and wine, mead, cider, etc.), and the desire to make it ourselves.

Also in our club’s mission is advocating the responsible use of alcohol, which is why we host beer tastings, not beer bashes, and why our events always feature plenty of good food.

Our club’s attitude about beer and brewing is more fun and casual, than serious and stuffy.  Although our membership includes numerous advanced brewers, we try to cater to beginners and non-brewing beer lovers who are interested in getting started.  It is beginning brewers who benefit most from a club like ours.

Please give a holler if you have any questions, and thanks for stopping in.
