The benefits of membership, and activities our
members  participate in, are summarized as follows:

  • Your own custom-engraved beer mug with our club logo and your own name beneath the logo, is available at a subsidized cost of $21 each (the actual cost is higher, so your club dues are hard at work to bring you savings).  They are 12.5 ounce, heavy-weight glass mugs, with beautiful detail work on our logo and your name.  New or current members may also purchase additional mugs with your name on them (i.e. create your own set!).  Contact Steve Kranz to obtain a quote.

  • informal tastings and structured competitions

  • online Calendar Of Events

  • read our club's bylaws online here

  • occasional planning meetings (includes drinking beer)

  • group brewing sessions (any chance to brew together, we take it.  Includes drinking beer)

  • a quarterly newsletter

  • directory of other club members - help on any subject is a phone call or e-mail away

  • free Library of Classic Beer Style Series books to borrow

  • brewery and brewpub road trips.  Includes drinking beer.

  • social events (such as our famous annual BrewCamp, and our annual Holiday Party.  Includes drinking beer)

  • color membership card, good for discounts at some homebrew supply shops including Maryland Homebrew

  • T-shirts with the logo on front and back are available for purchase at cost

  • Personalized, hand-painted tasting glass by Melinda Byrd for $15.  For each glass, $5 is donated back to the club by Melinda.  Just tell her what you want (within reason and good taste), and she'll take it from there.  The glasses currently available are eight-ounce Pilsner-shaped beer glasses, nicely proportioned with a heavy base.  Contact Melinda Byrd directly (410-549-4889 or byrdcall@aol.com) to commission your personalized glass.

What's the cost of all this frivolity?  Dirt cheap, we think...and we haven't raised dues in something like 5 years now.  We have memberships for either singles or couples.  Our first-year dues are pro-rated quarterly, depending on when you join according to the following schedule.  Then in January, all memberships renew for the full year.

Quarter Single Couple
January-March $15 $25
April-June $12 $19
July-September $8 $13
October-December $4 $6

If you'd like to join the club, you have two options:

  1. Click here for a form to complete, print and mail in with a check, or
  2. Pay right now, online with PayPal, the secure online service.  You may pay with a credit card or fund your membership dues directly from your bank account.  Select the desired membership type and the month in which you are joining from the drop-down list, and hit the PayPal icon.  Even if you are not a PayPal member, you may still pay electronically without signing up for a PayPal account.  Because PayPal charges service fees, electronic dues payments are slightly higher...think of it as the rough equivalent of a postage stamp and an envelope:
