Lisa and Mihai have developed a distinctive
improvisational language during many years of musical collaborations.
YAKSHI is the result of their explorations. Through composition
and improvisation, YAKSHI expresses organic forms reflecting the
rich cultural traditions of their global musical heritage: in
transformation
improvised music as pure experience, composition
as an expression of freedom.
Lisa Sangita Moskow has gained international
recognition for her innovative work with the sarod, a resonant
multi-stringed lute from North India. She has spent the last
thirty years creating original compositions and unusual ensembles
for this instrument. She has released five titles on her Casting
Spells Music label and the Hearts of Space/Fathom label.
