Mike Rose Knows... Libraries!
Mike Rose has been performing custom tailored programs in public libraries for many years... for more years than most of the attending children have been alive! This means he knows exactly how to present a successful program in your library. Each year Mike creates a totally new program specifically to complement the Summer Reading theme in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania. So regardless where your library is located, Mike has an all new program specially designed for your needs. Scroll down to see what's in store for 2012 and be sure to check out the YA program links at the bottom of this page for great programs for your teen patrons, too.
Looking for a special program during non-summer months? Mike also has an incredible reading themed magic show, The Magic of a Book which tells the story of how a 100 year old book, a gift from his grandfather, changed and guided his life. Mike displays the magic book and performs magic he learned from the old tome! Contact Mike for details about this unique program, too.
“Mike is a professional performer and a great friend to libraries; more than any other performer, he incorporates the summer theme into his presentation.”
Julie Ranelli - Queen Anne’s County Library

"Dreams, Schemes & Magic Things!"
New for Summer 2012
Magician Mike Rose has once again created an all new magic program for libraries! “Dreams, Schemes & Magic Things!” is designed to perfectly complement the Summer Reading theme for 2012 “Dream Big - Read.” Performing in front of a custom backdrop that he designed specifically for this new program,
Mike presents a magic show that is not like other magic shows. This new show is designed specifically for libraries. The show consists of impossible magic tricks, weird mind reading stunts and off the wall comedy all themed around dreams and nighttime activities. And the show features lots of audience participation, too. Since this is a magic show for libraries, throughout the show Mike will also be referencing various children’s books and promoting library use in a fun and entertaining manner. And because libraries get children of all ages, Mike's library program is designed to be suitable for audiences of any age. Also, the program is completely self-contained; Mike provides everything needed including sound system, backdrop, table, etc. You just provide the kids!
If you’ve had Mike at your library before, then you know how popular his shows are. If you haven’t, just schedule Mike for your library this summer and your patrons will tell you themselves!
The program is 45 minutes long and the fee is $325.00 complete (there are no extra fees for travel, etc.). However, if you schedule two or more performances the fee drops to only $275.00 each! The programs don’t have to be at the same location, merely coordinated with other libraries to be on the same day.
You are encouraged to send out a message on your listserv to coordinate with other librarians to get the reduced rate.
Performing at over 100 libraries per year (130 shows for summer 2011!), Mike's summer program calendar fills up fast (click here to see his schedule from summer 2011). Please email or call (410-836-7698) to reserve a date today, there is no obligation to hold the date, just let Mike know the date you would like and it will be held until you are able to confirm it. It's just that easy!
“Mike Rose’s programs are my favorite programs we offer.”
