The Family Cats:
Some of our cats are named after stellar objects. This is
Lyra. Her voice is not as sweet as the lyre the constellation is named
for, but she makes up for it by purring a lot.
Rigel was named after a bright star in the constellation of
Orion, the Hunter. When he was a kitten he had big feet, and Rigel is at
the foot of Orion. He likes to flop on the floor at our feet.
Panzer came with the house, and was named with the German word
for panther. She's very grey, very round, and very friendly once she gets
used to you. Here she is rubbing her head against the stair banister.
Aurora came to us from someone at Mike's office who was
moving. She was named for the goddess of the dawn. She likes to have
her tummy rubbed.
