Bike route books covering South East Pennsylvania

There are several books that provide cue sheets and descriptions of rides in South Eastern Pennsylvania.  Links are to Amazon.com.

Touring the Pennsylvania Countryside by Bicycle (Peter Powers, Terragraphics, Eugene, OR, 1992).  Apparently retitled Terragraphics bicycling atlas: Pennsylvania (on Amazon). (~$13)  This is a gem of a book - a model for what a good route book should be - but unfortunately it is difficult to find a copy.  It lists about 30 rides ranging in length from 15 - 90 miles.  Each has a cue sheet, altitude profile, 3-D map, and 2-D map.  Most maps include a short and long loop that can be strung together to make 70+ mile rides from the same start.  The rides start from different places, all within an hour's car drive of Center City.  However, none start from Philadelphia itself so it is not suitable for visitors without a car.  Fits easily in a jersey pocket.  A decade out of date but still very useable.

Best bike rides in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (Trudy Bell and Dale Lally).  Haven't  read it.

30 Bicycle Tours in New Jersey (Arline and Joel Zatz).  Haven't read it.

Back Roads Bicycling in Bucks County (Catherine D. Kerr; ~$15).  Mostly short rides, more suitable for family jaunts than "serious" cycling.  Some very pretty roads, though.  The book was revised in April 2003, so it should be up-to-date.  I haven't seen the revised version. The publisher's web site gives details and also updates on route closures.

Backroad Bicycling in Eastern Pennsylvania: 25 Rides for Touring and Mountain Bikes (Patricia Vance; ~$12).  Written by an active member of the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and fairly recently updated (2001).  Rides range from 10-55 miles.  Nearly all start from outside Philadelphia so not suitable for visitors without a car.  Available in most local bookstores.

Short bike rides in Eastern Pennsylvania, 4th Edition (Bill Simpson, ~$11).  Similar to Backroad Bicycling (above) although some of the rides start a really long way from Philadelphia (e.g., Harrisburg!).

Short bike rides in Philadelphia, 3rd Edition (Ann Lembo and Joe Surkiewicz; ~$10).  Haven't read it.

32 Great Road Bike Tours in Eastern Pennsylvania (James F. Davis ~$12, out of print).  The title looks interesting but I can't find it locally.
