Welcome to Philadelphia!

This site is designed to provide you with all the information you need to ride a bicycle in Philadelphia.  I hope it will be useful if you are visiting for business or pleasure, or if you are a native Philadelphian who wants to discover some of the many opportunities to bike here.

I have tried to be comprehensive but this site is unashamedly biased to reflect my views, opinions, and knowledge of the Philadelphia bike scene.  Philadelphia is a great place for bicycling.  There are certainly problems: busy roads, lawless drivers, trash-strewn bicycle lanes, high humidity, and icy winters come to mind.  However, outweighing these are the thousands of miles of prime cycling roads within a fifty-mile radius of the City center, many miles of bike paths, and dozens of organized rides weekly, topped off with a very active and friendly bike community.
