The map of the Round Mountain trail. We had planned to go all the way to Round Mountain, but since it was late and the middle of the week, we stopped early. The Persied meteor shower peaked tonight, but with the bright moon and a thin layer of clouds, we weren't able to see any meteors.

A 3D view of the trail. The canyon blocked the GPS signal in a few places causing some of the track to wander a bit.

We gained over 1500 feet in elevation in 2.5 miles. With the warmth of the evening, that made this climb more effort that the last couple of hikes.

The city of Loveland with the full moon and Mars.

This picture of the group needs some explanation. The first shot I took followed several time exposures of the moon and Mars. I forgot to set the shutter back to auto and wound up with both a flash and a 30 second exposure. I took another shot with the right shutter setting, but wouldn't you know I blinked. The third shot had everyone's eyes open, but without the lights of Loveland blazing in the background, it just didn't have the pizzazz of that first shot. So I did a bit of photoshopping on the first picture. I cloned Kirviews eyes and a bit of J.R.'s hair from the second shot, and removed a few demonic red-eyes. Kelly was just beyond the flash and had to be dodged a bit to keep him from being lost entirely.
