Here are some picture's of the final assembly of the 1949 John Deere Styled G. In the photos below are the final assembly of the John Deere G everything has been primed with 2 coats of epoxy primer. Also put all new races and bearings in the whole tractor. And it was along time to get to this point with the Full Restoration Project that I started February 2005 on the John Deere G. The time I have in the Restoration was all worth it to me, and it was very fun doing the Restoration Project. So until the next Restoration Projects "John Deere USG" & "John Deere A" that I'm going to start very soon. And it will be the same Restoration as the John Deere G.
In the photos below are the assembly of the transmission gears and the shafting shafts are in place. Also the transmission has all new bearings and races to. The differential is not done I'm having 3 pins put in it to improve how the ring gear is attached on it. So if I want to pull it in heavier classes it don't turn the ring gear on the differential and ruin the differential assembly it is for precaution.
In the photos below are the assembly of the crank, main bearings set up and the cam and lifters are in place to. I'm done until spring I have to paint all the main case and frame so I can put the block in. So this is it till then.
In the photos below are of the differential that I had the three pins put in it to keep the ring gear from ever spinning on the differential. As you can see in the pictures the ring gear has moved alittle bit. Look at the factory pins with the washers. That pin doesn't hold the ring gear the washer holds the gear from moving. Its over kill but I had it all apart so why not. I'm also having new pins made for the new spider gears that I found to. They were wore some not as much as the pins that were in there.
