The Church of Monte (built in 1818) is where my great grandparents Manuel de Sousa and Maria Gomes were married in 1860. Grandfather Augusto de Sousa was also baptised here. We were told church steps were built to equal the number of beads on a rosary.(photo credit to cousin Terry Kelly)
Colorful boats in Moita harbor. Our friend Maria of Palmela, Portugal sent us a guide book that she had translated for us. This particular picture shows people running in front of a bull during a popular festival.
