I had told a coworker about the nest outside our door.
She was fascinated, and asked if I would take a picture
of the eggs to show her.  Originally, I had planned to
snap a shot of the nest holding a coin up to it for
comparison, but when I climbed up to peer down into the
nest, I got a surprise I hadn't really counted upon....

I snapped this pic and mailed it off to Brian at work.
I should have sent him an electronic cigar.  He was
happier than I was!  He suggested we take daily
pictures to record their growth...
