Brigs -A 2-masted sailing ship, carrying square sails on both the foremast and mainmast. There is a fore-and-aft sail on the main called the spanker.

Full Rigged Ships- In the days of sail a ship meant one thing: a sailing vessel with 3 or more masts, square-rigged on all of them.  Everything else was a vessel, not a ship.
