Wheelchair Basketball Team

About the Royals

The Minnesota Royals are a competitive, Varsity level team competing in the Junior Division of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. These high school athletes from the South Metro area have a variety of physical disabilities that affect their mobility. This is a fast paced game that requires physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and a competitive spirit. Wheelchair basketball gives kids with physical disabilities the opportunity to experience the same challenges and rewards as able-bodied athletes.

The Royals currently have 7 players, 4 from Dakota county, 2 from Eden Prairie and 1 from Sauk Rapids:  3 Seniors, 2 Juniors, 2 Sophomores.  The Royals finished tenth in the 2008 National Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior Division Varsity Tournament held in Renton, WA.
