Membership
Eligibility
Any
woman who is at least eighteen years of age and can prove lineal
bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American
independence is eligible for membership. She must provide
documentation for each statement of birth, marriage,
and death. One of these statements must show the parentage
link to the next generation.
The National
Society reserves the right to determine the acceptability of all
service and proof thereof. The National Society accepts service,
with some exceptions, for the period between 19 April 1775 (Battle
of Lexington) and 26 November 1783 (withdrawal of British Troops
from New York).
Philip Livingston Chapter members are glad to assist
those seeking membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. The
chapter holds workshops to work with prospective
members and others interested in researching their
roots. These
workshops provide one-on-one help with your research. Check
the chapter calendar frequently to see when and where
a workshop is scheduled.
If you are interested in pursuing membership in
the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Philip Livingston
Chapter
may be contacted by email.
