I have been a Dave Matthews Band
fan since his first major release Under the Table and Dreaming. I remember
hearing Dave Matthews' "What Would you Say" on WDVE back in 1994. I had a
Pontiac convertible at that time and have vivid memories driving to a date or college
class jamming to Dave Matthews with the top of the car down. Little did I know that
Dave Matthews would be with me for the rest of my life.
I have been
following Dave Matthews for over a decade and over the past few year I received a gift of
a Fire Dancer flag from my room mate. (See the picture to the right) This flag means
so much to me as it embodies all of Dave Matthews music and all the emotions felt with his
songs and lyrics. I have written and asked Dave Matthews if he and his band would
sign my flag, but sadly they have never responded. Regardless I will continue to fly
this flag at concerts and celebrate with other fans of the Dave Matthews Band community.
Today the Dave Matthews Band continues to own the place of honor in my CD collection and player. Throughout the hard times I have had in my life, there was a song by DMB that could relate to my life struggle and pain at that time. DMB's music has been such great support that I hope someday I can thank Dave and the band in person. I wait patiently for that day.
