The Darker Side of Miranda.....

One night the reaper stole from me a person that  I did love much

"please dont leave me" frightenly whispered as I lost her touch

Her eyes lost focus as her body into my arms did fall

Moments later, embraced in my arms her heart did stale

My breath be shared was her only chance for life

The reaper's blow done delivered, reaper had won this strife....

There are many dark images and moments that haunt my mind.   I have felt a soul leave a body and death brush past me with stolen life.  I grew up back when the Cure had videos when MTV still played them.  It is nice that I can attend a bar in Pittsburgh where "Close to Me" is played and too much eye liner is accepted.  Welcome to the darker side of my mind.

I consider myself a corporate goth as I limit my attire and appearence to weekends and clubs.  It sucks that corporate America is so conservative that a professional woman is not judged on her skills but her appearance.  Saddly this keeps me from adding some pink to my hair or multiple body art.

I grew up a member of the Roman Catholic Church and got to experience first hand the anger of "The Nuns".  I remember the punishment they dished out including the ruler, threats of hell, and sitting on the hot radiator.   As I grew older, I found the church not practicing the love and acceptance I felt was the core foundation of it's faith.  This is most likely where I discovered my love for catholic imagery such as the background of this site.

Pittsburgh used to have a decent Goth bar called Cermony located in the Upstage Bar downtown Oakland near Pittsburgh's east side.  Their last night was December 30th, 2006 and I was proud to dance there until 3am.  The picture shown to the right was from right before going to Ceremony.  There is a rumor that the Goth night will continue at Pegasus Wednesday nights on Liberty Avenue.  I hope to get there sometime.

Every year there is a party held in Pittsburgh called the DAX.   The DAX party is named for the Day After Christmas(X-mas) and was designed by my friend Robyn.   The theory behind the DAX is that many of us tune it down for the holidays when we have to see familes and attend work holiday functions.  Many of us act on a different behavior for the family holidays, but that normally ends....... the Day After X-mas.  So the DAX party symbolizes and offers everyone a chance to stop being good and express something bad.  The DAX is not strickly Goth, but more like an alternative night at a local Pittsburgh bar.  It is alot of fun but doesn't include the techno goth music I enjoy.Mir election day.jpg (383524 bytes)
