Timothy Scott Misner is originally from Santa Rosa, California. Aside from a very short stint at playing clarinet in elementary school, Timothy didn't get started
in music until as a teenager he began playing electric bass guitar, singing and writing songs in various "garage" bands. While attending the Santa Rosa Junior College, Timothy's interest in music expanded to studies in music theory, music history, voice and choral singing. In 1987, he performed as a baritone with the Northern California Chamber Chorale on tour in Europe, including performances in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Timothy continued choral singing and musical stage show performances while attending California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. After college, Timothy lived in Fukuoka, Japan with his wife, teaching English and traveling extensively around the country. They eventually returned to California and shortly thereafter moved to Corvallis, Oregon. Over the years, Timothy has created music is many genres, including explosive rock, serene New Age and adult contemporary jazz, yet being a classical music enthusiast, he has settled into concentrating on the symphonic medium. He enjoys the immense challenge of utilizing the forces of the orchestra to bring realization to his varied musical inspirations. In addition to composing concert music, Timothy creates custom production music for all types of multimedia applications utilizing Sibelius Professional notation software, Cakewalk Home Studio and Sound Forge audio editing software. Timothy currently lives in Corvallis, Oregon with his wife Ryoko, son Kai, and loveable beagle Sparky. He is a member of ASCAP.
