In HOLLAND LOPS I think that does are an anomaly of sorts. Chances are that a doe that is very showable, meaning having a long show life including wins will either not produce offspring or produced sparingly. Her ugly sister though, will probably produce some very nice looking offspring. The sister will also produce a higher number of offspring. Of the thirty or so does
that I am currently using in my breeding program, maybe only five of them are 'showable'. With does that I have selected strictly for breeding I try to start breeding them between five and six months. I seem to get better results through out the span of their breeding lives by starting them a bit earlier. If I am showing the doe, I try not to let her go past nine months before attempting to get her bred. Of course there is always the exception, I have gone over a year before breeding and have had does that have produced and have gone on to have long fruitful breeding careers. As long as a doe is producing and is producing good
quality offspring I keep her in my breeding program no matter her age. I have found in my breeding program that young does bred to young bucks have the least amount of misses and tend to produce higher numbers of offspring in a single breeding. I find using the younger does and younger bucks in the winter and summer or during times when the animals are reluctant to breed also helps keep my production of litters up.

LUV*n*LOPS ANNABELLE is an awesome show doe. Winning numerous BOB or BOSB throughout the spring show season as a junior she finished by winning her SR leg to earn her G.C. certificate. Annabelle will be a top lop for the 2001 -2002 show season. One of the things I like most about this doe is the compactness of her body. Unlike many of my rabbits she has not gotten length in her shoulders as she has continued to develop. Annabelle is out of L.L. MICKY and L.L. JESSIE. I am looking forward to trying the breeding combination of her and L.L. RJ.

LUV*n*LOPS Sandi & Nicki are two Grand Champion Does from the Dharma*Jay cross. They are siblings to L.L. Scott & L.L. Micky. These two does granded in their first show season. More recently they have been added to my breeding program. You can expect to see their offspring on the show tables this spring.
