Home --> The Five Bees
Be on time.
Upon arrival, students will take their assigned seats and begin working on the daily "Due Now" posted on the whiteboard. Work will be underway before the late bell sounds.
Students late for class will take their seats quietly and begin working as soon as they arrive. Their names will be submitted to the vice-principal's office for disciplinary action.
Be prepared.
Materials required for class:
(a) Your textbook.
(b) Your math notebook: a 3-ring binder, separated into sections for class notes, homework, and handouts.
(c) A pencil. Suggestion: keep a spare pencil or two on hand.
(d) Other materials may include a protractor or a calculator for special activities. Instructions will be posted.
Be alert.
A student who puts his or her head on the desk or dozes off will be given one warning. If the problem occurs a second time during a class period, the student will be sent either to the nurse's office or the vice-principal's office.
Be focused.
During our 41 minutes together, we will work on math and only math. A student turning his or her attention to an assignment from another class, or to a non-academic interest, will receive either a warning, classroom detention, or referral to the vice-principal's office, as appropriate.
Be considerate.
Any actions that divert attention away from our lessons in any way, whether accidental or deliberate, will result either in a warning, classroom detention, or a referral to the vice-principal's office, as appropriate.
