Greetings from the North Family - 17 February 2008
Return to this week's news

Emily got a cookbook at her school book fair. For Sunday dinner, she made us dogs. The dogs consisted of hotdogs baked in crossiants, with pickle legs and tail, and pepper/olive head and ears. They were tasty.

Jessica made this impressive looking diorama for her oral book report on Afternoon on the Amazon, by Mary Pope Osborn. She put my stuffed piranha inside.

What happened this week...?

My students finished their documentary of the Brazil trip, and we held a screening at the college on Tuesday night. It was well attended. The students did a good job on the film. We had popcorn and guarana. The whole family came, the girls love the attention the college kids give them, and the college kids love playing with the girls, so it worked well. On Thursday, we had Joan and Lisa come over to our house to watch the girls while Joanne and I went out for Valentine's Day dinner. We had Italian food. On Saturday, I did some chores around the house that have gone neglected for far too long, then conducted a funeral for Ruth Simpson, a long time member of our ward who died in late January at the age of 96. I dedicated her grave last week. Many of her family member are from out of state, so to make things easier, they laid her to rest shortly after her passing, then held a funeral when they could all get into town. It worked pretty well, and didn't make for such a long day on Saturday.

Best wishes to all,

Matt, Joanne, Jessica, Emily & Madeline
