Greetings from the North Family - 6 April 2008
Return to this week's news

For dinner on April Fool's Day, Joanne made Faux Berry Pie. How cute. It is mashed potatoes (colored for effect) on top, and ground beef underneath. It was pretty tasty.

Emily came home from career day at school looking like this. One of the moms is a neonatal nurse, and she brought hair nets for everyone.

What happened this week...?

Last week we had tickets to see Fiddler on the Roof, but we forgot and committed to go to a scholars dinner at the college, so we had to trade our show tickets for Friday of this week. The girls love going to the theather, and even though Fiddler was a bit long, they enjoyed it. Their favorite line was "Today, I am a horse." They kept repeating it in the car on the ride home and laughing until they finally fell asleep. I forgot to mention last week, that we took our priest's quorum from church to the Pittsburgh Penguins game. That was lots of fun. In addition to the play, we enjoyed General Conference this past weekend, and are always grateful for the experience it gives us. Joanne and the girls mostly enjoyed it at home, while I was at the church most of Saturday and Sunday. This coming weekend is Stake Conference, so no rest fo the wicked (me). Joanne has been able to do some planting this spring, and she's grateful the weather's finally good enough to be out of the house. On Friday we learned that another member of my ward, Naomi DaPra had died. This is the fifth funeral in seven months as bishop. You probably don't want to be in my ward, with my track record. Naomi had diabetes and kidney failure, so it was good for her to go. Her brother, niece and nephew are all in our ward and in spite of understanding she needed to go, it has been a hard weekend for them all. The funeral will be tomorrow (Monday).

Best wishes to all,

Matt, Joanne, Jessica, Emily & Madeline
