What is the CPMDDA?

The CPMDDA is a collective of schools, which endeavor to uphold the following Statement of Purpose: "The Association's purpose is to provide a high standard, by which all members and the Association as a whole, recognize the need for relentless improvement and the unceasing desire to uphold said standard".

The standard referred to is the codified, unique curriculum belonging to each of four TangsoologyTM Institute schools. This unique curriculum, as developed and codified by Grandmaster John H. Lee and further refined by Vernon Medeiros Sabom Nim , calls for the relentless pursuit of perfection of the following: Physical, Mental, Intellectual and Spiritual assets. Improvement comes through consistent, diligent training and support of the Association as well as written assignments which allow the practitioners to develop beyond the physical demands of training. The circle of physical activity invites mental health, enhancing intellectual exercitation and thereby improving one's spiritual development.

Because of the CPMDDA standard, all sincere students are able to succeed and have a common goal: to support each other! Rank is not watered down as rank requirements are standardized with minimum times in grade, and students can work on their strengths as well as their weaknesses to become a well rounded Tangsoologist (to become a Tangsoologist means the practitioner has been awarded a dan rank: midnight blue belt).

The CPMDDA is not limited to Tangsoology
TM schools! It also applies to our Association's Aikido practitioners as well! A codified curriculum for Aikidoists provides a vehicle for self improvement which is paramount in the life of a martial artist practicing Do.
