The following is a collection of my favorite drinks.
This is not meant to be a comprehensive bar guide.
These are merely the house favorites ...
Here's the menu:
(Drinks are color coded to show what they should look like)
The traditional Margarita, made with the finest ingredients.
Once you've had one, you'll never settle for anything less.
The recipe is from Maria's Real Margarita Book (see below).
Frozen
Margarita
This guest-pleaser was inspired by a similar creation at Chili's Restaurant.
Snake Bite
This drink is very refreshing during the summer and is very easy to make when you just don't have the ambition to crank up the ice crusher and blender again.
Roman Candle
I got this recipe off a Sambucca bottle many years ago, but almost no one has ever heard of it.
Excellent shock factor at bars. The local bartender cringes every time I order.
Oatmeal Cookie
Tastes just like the name ...
Chocolate Martini
Berry Martini
Purple Frozen Drink
This is a very tasty frozen juice drink with a nice rum flavor.
It is very important to use Dole brand frozen juice mixes which are 100% juice.
Most other frozen juice mixes are mostly sugar and turn out too sweet.
ChocoBerry Pudding
Peach Drink
Stuttering Lizard
Mudslide
A real Mudslide, not the milkshake-like immitation you get at the local restaurant.
Pineapple Drink
This is a long time favorite. So smooth even your mother will want seconds.
Candy Apple Martini
Candy Apple Raspberry Martini
Similar to the drink above, but much better. The taste and color are amazing.
Boston Harbor
A very tasty variation of the basic Pineapple Drink.
Make one and you'll understand the name.
Pan Galactic
Gargle Blaster
The title comes from the famous drink in Douglas Adams's Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
If you haven't read the books, I will try to explain.
One passage reads something like:
The guide tells which planets make the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters and what rehabilitation facilities exist to help you recover afterwards.
I finally found a drink that lives up to this expectation.
Don't ask me how on earth I discovered this, because it should be obvious that I wouldn't remember.
This is a fun drink at bars. Most waitresses will get very upset if you try to order both of these drinks at once.
Credit for "Discovery of Concept" goes to Arthur Lyman.
Credit for this one goes to college roommate and drinking bud, Arthur Lyman.
Both of these drinks are nasty tasting and deadly on their own.
Here's the trick: Take a sip of both a swirl it around in your mouth.
It will taste just like Hawiian Punch! Really, I'm not kidding!
Here is our cat after one too many ...
(OK, just kidding)
