..the release of the spiritual album...

About the music | Response | Father Lannan

PATRICK AND MICHAEL LOONAN played for years at the Lower Church 10:30 Mass at Nativity of Our Lord Church in St. Paul. The brothers have a long family history at Nativity, having been raised in the church themselves and now are continuing the tradition with their families. Both are accomplished musicians and songwriters--Patrick has been writing songs for over 20 years and Michael is a well-known performer, songwriter and producer with two solo albums released.

The Day Has Come, a collection of acoustic based songs all written by Patrick Loonan, is a love letter to God and the people of Nativity. "Today I Will Walk", one of the songs on the album, was heard often at 10:30 Mass and has become a favorite of many parishioners. The album was recorded in Michael's home studio.

"Succinct harmonies--the kind that can only come from 2 brothers. Consistent flow of tranquil sound to calm the kids, calm your heart, calm the air and let God's peace in."

Responses:

Patrick and Michael were delighted to receive a note from EWTN (Catholic Cable Network) personality Jeff Cavins, host of the network's "Life on the Rock" program, with thanks for sending him the CD in response to suggestions for possible guests on future programs. The producers of the "Decision Today" program by the Billy Graham Organization also graciously acknowledged receipt of a copy of the CD.

The Minnesota Association of Christian Songwriters also had kind words for "The Day Has Come"...Nikki Frizzell of the MACS told the guys the CD was "great. You are obviously blessed with talent."

A listing for Patrick and Michael's CD in the Summer 1998 issue of SingOut! Magazine sparked some inquiry. A radio station in Chicago requested a copy of "Day Has Come" for possible airplay.

"How Long (the Shepherd's Song)" got some airplay over the 1998 Christmas season on radio stations in Canada and Northern Wisconsin!

There's more music to come. Patrick and Michael are planning a second CD collection of original spiritual material. The guys have some songs they've performed in church not on "Day Has Come" that they've been getting requests for!

In Loving Memory

FATHER PATRICK D. LANNAN

Pastor, Church of the Nativity of Our Lord, St. Paul, MN

From "The Day Has Come" liner notes: "We want to thank our dear friend and pastor, Father Patrick Lannan, for his great faith, love, spiritual direction and generosity. The gift that he is cannot be overestimated."
-- Patrick and Michael Loonan

Father Lannan was a motivating supporter of the music on "The Day Has Come" and was loved and admired by those who knew him. May he rest in God's peace.
