Here's a job I worked on.  It was really interesting.  My task was to improve the robotic machine vision and fuel door recognition algorithms for the Shell SmartPump Project.  Here is a link to the Shell SmartPump car refueling project I worked on for almost 2 years in the Los Angeles area.

SEE MY WEBCAM: see what's going on at Sebec Lake, Maine... probably nothing... but isn't that nice.... click here.

One of the things I like most is hiking. This page describes my favorite small mountain in Maine, Boarstone Mt. (or Borestone) located near the town of Monson. It's a very easy mountain to climb with a great view from the top.

The image above is of Boarstone and Barren mountains from Sebec Lake. It was made using a program called Vistapro which can deliver realistic images of landscapes using 30 meter grid data from the US geologic survey (USGS).

Vistapro software lets you see what a place looks like before visiting and you can explore places you can't visit, like Mars and Venus using USGS and NASA data.

This is my cat, Tigie.

Real Boarstone Pictures...  Really

Photo and Vistapro rendering comparison from the Onawa Trestle looking across lake Onawa. Boarstone is to the left, Barren to the right. The trestle provides a unique vantage point for one of the prettiest spots in Maine. Few people have the opportunity to see this view save for the train crews, venturesome hikers and those who have summer camps on lake Onawa.

The Onawa Trestle crosses Ship Pond stream at the outlet of Lake Onawa. The trestle is part of the former Canadian Pacific railway between New Brunswick and Quebec. It is 1200 feet long and 130 feet above the stream.
