Although it has been nearly destroyed by insensitive renovation, this house on Clark Avenue is notable because it was built by the famous Low family. Low art tiles, which were made in Chelsea, were world-renowned in the late 1800s and many houses in Chelsea still have fireplaces with beautiful Low tile surrounds. Originally this apartment house must have been a spectacular home, and rumor has it that it still contains some wonderful Low fireplaces.
