MORNING FOG I took an early morning flight the other day and encountered some fog that was absolutely fascinating. The gliderport was reasonably clear in the Bald Eagle valley, with the exception of a few low clouds.
But, the State College valley across the ridge to the left was completely blanketed with heavy fog that was flowing over the ridge like a waterfall.
I flew along the edge in clear air.
From up high you could see the the ridge tops peaking through to the south.
This shot is from 6500 feet looking north over State College. The fog finally cleared about 11:00 AM.
