MINNESOTA CUP CONTEST

This contest is run like a soccor league with a regular season schedule and then playoffs with with wins and losses kept in a league standings format. Residents nominate 4 stables they will use in the contest and from which they have to select 3 runners from each week. They go head to head with other players (opponents horses do not have to run in the same races) in the regular season with points awarded according to how the nominated runners finish. The scorings is as follows:

10 points for a win
5 points for a second place finish
3 points for a third place finish
+ 1 point for every horse beaten in the race no matter what position your runner finishes in.

The two scores are put together and the highest scoring team receives a win in the standings and 3 points. The loser receives no points and if there is a tie each team would receive 1 point.

Standings are kept week to week and at the end of the regular season playoff series are held and at the end of the final playoff round the winner receives a credit prize of

1000 CREDITS

Exact schedule length, division size and playoff format will be determined by the number of teams entered.

The entry thread for this contest is held in January with the contest starting in February with the final playoff round ending aproximately in December.
