The ninth annual MSHA Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet was held at Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit on May 28. This new venue in NE Minneapolis with the anual event scheduled on Saturday night of the State Doubles tournament combined to attract a crowd of nearly 100 players and guests. Also new this year were the introductions of 2001 Hall of Famers Rich Ryan and Larry Klein by their sons, Jeff and Chris. Both sons entertained the audience and did a great job welcoming their fathers to the elite ranks of the Minnesota State Handball Hall of Fame.

The evening was enhanced by with a tent party in full swing outside and the regular antics of the wait staff at the Gasthof.

Gary Rohrer, looking dapper in his tuxedo, welcomed the inductees, their families, guests and the handball players. Sheldon Silberman recognized all of the 2001 tournament finishers and Brett Broxey recognized and awarded the great sponsors of our organization. The evening concluded with the Top Eight awards for the finishers in the Open Singles.
