The Nationals are Coming,
The Nationals are Coming!
By now you probably already know the 2000 USHA, Four-Wall National Championship tournament will be held in Minnesota. The dates are June 4-10, 2000. The tournament will be held at the University of Minnesota Rec Center in Minneapolis. What you may not know is how much progress has already been made on the planning of this prestigious event. And, more importantly, what is yet to be accomplished to make this a first-class experience for all the participants and their guests.
This will be the 50th annual USHA Four-Wall event and the first in the new millennium. Our tournament director is none other than 13-time national champion Dr. Gary Rohrer. Gary and your MSHA board have been meeting regularily to organize the extravaganza. Several committees have been established to focus attention on the major areas.
The Sponsorship committee has been very active securing major sponsorships by "selling" each of the courts. In addition, several MSHA members have come forward with significant contributions.
Each of you has several ways to help. First, participate in the tournament! The more players we have, the more fun it is for everyone. You will receive more value from your entry fee than you will pay. The entry includes: a Sunday or Monday night social dinner, breakfast and lunch every day, the annual USHA Awards banquet on Friday night, a tournament shirt, program, and of course some top-notch handball!
You can also help sponsor the tournament by purchasing advertising space in the tournament program. A full page ad is $500, a half page is $250, a quarter page is $150, and a business card is $75. We also except cash donations.
Lastly, you can help by volunteering for one of the committees. The greatest need is for volunteers during the week of the tournament. You can take as many three-hour shifts as you would like.
