Novice Division
Added to all State Tournaments
Each of the 2002 State Championship Tournaments includes a special, no cost novice entry. Novices are defined as any individual that has no tournament experience prior to 2002. This includes 60 year-old players as well as 12 year-olds. And, you are not limited to just one tournament - you can enter all three, for free! If you know of anyone at your club that has been toying with the idea of handball, or never played in a tournament, this is a great opportunity to help handball and the new enthusiast.
The format of the competition will be dependant on the skills and number of participants. Each novice player will receive a special package of information and supplies to help them get started in handball.
This is the new MSHA handball development program at work. But we need everyones help to achieve success. We need to attract 100 new players to the game in Minnesota. The only way to do this is to expose more potential players to the great competition, camaraderie and challenge of handball.
We know not everyone who tries the game will stick with it. Each of us knows people that have some interest or only play "club" ball. Maybe a neighbors kid or your kids friends. Help us get them started and we will all be rewarded with a vibrant, thriving handball community in the future.
