Announcing the 1996
"Family That Plays Together Doesn't Play Against Each Other" Tournament

In an effort to extend all that holiday cheer and togetherness onto the handball courts, the Golden Age Society is holding another Father/Son or Daughter doubles event. Probably a round robin format.

The tournament will be Saturday, January 20, at the Minneapolis Athletic Club and run from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Everyone so inclined will then report to the Court Bar (right next door) for lunch and refreshments.

The court time will be $5 a person (MAC members free) and you are on your own for lunch.

Call Jack Hickman at (612) 457-6105 by January 17 to declare your intentions. Don't miss it if you possibly can!

Thanks to Jerry Jordahl for popping for the postage and Tom Votel for handling our last GAS mailing promoting the November 16 McCarthy Gym/O'Gara's gala. There were more than 20 players at the courts and 25 or more at O'Gara's for the feast of steak, chicken and ribs.

It was especially good to have Bob Davis, Jack Burke and Gail Mayo show up looking so hale, hearty and healthy.

One of the subjects discussed at O'Gara's was renaming the GAS. Among the suggestions: HOGs (Handball's Old Guys), GOBs (Good Old Boys) and HOTs (Handball's Old Timers.) Call Hickman with your vote.
