Father - Son Doubles
On Saturday, December 13, nine father/son teams gathered at the Minneapolis Athletic Club for this 4th annual event. After a preliminary round robin of standard 2-game matches, the remaining eight teams played single 21 point games for the championship.

Nick and Bill Brown beat the Dale and Greg Taylor 21-20 then Keith and Bob Schaumann 21-19 setting up a showdown with Don and Tony Krocak. Krocak's were in command all the way, defeating JJ and Jerry Halverson 21-9 and Ryan and Dick Maloney 21-15 before taking the championship 21-4 over the Browns.

Jeff and Gary Rohrer took consolation honors with wins over Bill and Paul Schulz, Mike and Jerry Total and in the finals, 21-20 over the Halverson's

Handball Mixer
Round robin doubles play is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 1998 at McCarthy Gym. The 60+ division plays from 4:30 - 6 PM followed by the 50+ division from 6 to 7:30 PM. There is a limit of sixteen players per division. The $15 entry fee covers play and a buffet dinner at 8 PM. Call Jack Hickman at (612) 457-6105 by Monday, January 19 for details and reservations. Spectators are welcome and can join the buffet for a nominal fee.
