Finances

Without sufficient sponsorship and entry fees to cover the cost of the USHA Pro stop, we again lost a couple of thousand dollars.  Once again the sponsors we did secure really helped us provide a first class tournament experience for each of the MSHA events.

2004 Events

Dates and formats were selected for the 2004 State Tournaments.  We will once again hold two doubles tournaments - Open (Feb 27-29) and Masters (March 26-28), and one combined Singles tournament.  The divisions will be NOT be limited to eight entrants, but every effort will be made to maintain a two-day format.  This may mean some players will play twice on Friday night or three times on Saturday.  The Singles tournament will be open to out of state participants and be combined with the Spring Classic at the U of M April 16-18.  The annual Hall of Fame and Awards banquet will be held at the Wabasha Street Caves April 23, 2004 - not in conflict with the fishing opener.  The Open Doubles will be at a new venue - the Central Courts, on Central Avenue two blocks south of I-694 in Minneapolis.  The club has eight concrete courts with one glass back-wall exhibition court and theater seating.
