USHA 2007 Nationals
Coming to Minneapolis
Officially, the Nationals begin April 30, 2007 at the University of Minnesota Rec Sports Center in Minneapolis. However, we expect some matches to begin as early as Saturday, April 28th. The Minneapolis Aquatennial may claim to be the ten best days of summer. The 2007 USHA Handball Nationals in Minneapolis will be the best days of handball!
Your participation will make it the best it can be. We need you to volunteer for the many odd jobs required to make all the out-of-town guests feel welcome and to find their way around. We expect to provide food and other refreshments (including beer) throughout the weeklong tournament. We need you to play in the tournament – there are age divisions for every five years and many skill levels to provide everyone a competitive division.
We hope to see 400-600 entries. At least half of the players should come from our MSHA members. Remember, you need to be a USHA member to play so renew or join now so you are eligible next year.
We also need sponsors to help fund this endeavor. We hope sell court sponsorships for each of the ten glass courts at the Rec Center. If you or your company can help, please contact the local tournament chair, Gary Rohrer at (952) 942-8369. We receive some income from the entries and possibly from advertising (the USHA will produce the program and share ad revenue) but we need to raise over $20,000 to cover the costs. Even if you cannot sponsor a court you can help with a donation of any size.
