2006 MSHA Hall of Fame & Awards Banquet

 

The fourteenth Annual MSHA Awards Banquet found us back at the Fort Snelling Officers Club - the site of our very first Hall of Fame ceremony. The induction of Tim Labey into the Minnesota Handball Hall of Fame drew a capacity crowd. The first Moy Langhorst Scholarship Award was presented to the University of Minnesota Handball Club and Matt Hiber for their efforts in advancing the ideals of the award. Steve Subak was presented with a special portrait from the USHA Hall of Fame. Each of the 2006 State finalists was recognized.

Steve Subak and Jerry Jordahl were thanked and presented with their sponsor shirts. And the 2006 Top Ten handball players were honored and awarded their top-ten shirts.

Eleven Minnesota Handball Hall of Fame Members were recognized for all of their contributions on and off the courts.

Every table received a goody bag ranging from handballs to T-shirts to distribute among all the guests. It was a celebratory evening for Minnesota handball and all had a great time

Barry Becklin Emceed the evening's events and Sheldon Silberman, MSHA secretary, recognized all of the 2006 State Tournament award winners.

Pete Kaehler presented the Moy Langhorst Scholarship Award for the work done by the U of M Handball Club.

 Matt Hiber, along with instructors Jim Carlson and Ron Causton accept the award "for demonstrating the ideals Moy displayed: Perseverance, integrity, sportsmanship and determination."

 

Tim Labey was honored with many awards.
