In an effort to make better use of our funds, we are trimming our mailing list to only active supporters of the organization. Even if you are a lifetime member, we find it necessary to charge an annual subscription fee of $10 if you wish to continue to receive our mailings.
Those of you that have played in at least one of our state tournaments in the last two years, or have otherwise remained active in the association as a contributor or dues paying member will continue to receive all of our mailings. Check the mailing label on this newsletter to determine your current status. If your annual membership renewal is due or you wish to contribute, please utilize the form on page nine. If you have any questions, contact the MSHA Secretary or any Board member.
Yes! The 50th annual USHA Four-Wall National Handball Tournament is coming to the Twin Cities. The new tentative dates have been moved a few weeks to June 3-10, 2000. The planned site is the University of Minnesota Recreational Sports Center.
Gary Rohrer is the local tournament director. If you would like to volunteer for a committee or a leadership position contact Gary at (612) 920-8876. We will begin preparations in late 1998. Major corporate sponsorship will be required, so give some thought and make some suggestions, if you can. If any sponsors would like to make an early commitment, contact Gary directly.
Winter is a distant memory and our hands are full of dirt from gardening. Why not try your hand(s) at three-wall handball. It is a chance to play your favorite game without the indoor confines of a traditional handball court. A pickup game of doubles can usually be found any weekend day (when the sun is shining) around noon.
The wood-walled courts are located near Lake Phalen southeast of the intersection of Johnson Parkway and Maryland Avenue.
Bring a lawn chair, plenty of water, sunscreen, and some old gloves.
