What is the Hall of
Fame?
The MSHA Hall of Fame
is a society of people (Players & Contributors) who have been formally
recognized by the Hall of Fame Committee and the MSHA Board of Directors as
having had a long-lasting, significant, positive impact on Handball in
Minnesota.
Each inductee was
selected because of his or her on-court accomplishments as well as other
contributions to the welfare and development of handball in the state of
Minnesota and elsewhere. Inductees are honored at an annual awards banquet,
usually held in May following the State Tournaments. Recipients¹ names are
added to a plaque on display in the MSHA Handball Hall of Fame display cabinet
at the Minneapolis Lifetime Athletic Club and in the USHA Hall of Fame in
Tucson.

What is the Process
for Nominating a Candidate?
Any MSHA member can
nominate a person to be considered for the Hall of Fame. There is a Nomination
Form available on the MSHA Website -
http://mnhandball.home.comcast.net
The form should be
completed and received by any member of the Hall of Fame Committee by December
1 of the year preceding the year of Induction.
What happens after a
Candidate has been Nominated?
The Hall of Fame
Committee reviews the submission for completeness and votes (2/3 majority
required) for further consideration. At a second reading/meeting, the HoF
Committee votes (2/3 majority required) to recommend the Candidate for
Induction.
The Committee then
brings the Recommendation to the MSHA Board (at the first meeting of the New
Year) for their vote (simple majority required) and approval.
The Candidate will be
formally inducted into the Hall of Fame at the MSHA Annual Meeting or at the
MSHA Annual Banquet following the Board¹s approval of the Candidate.
