Their moment in the sun . . .
Bodhi came from a foster home specializing in Siamese rescue. This place was in Olney, MD. Before that, he had been found wandering around Lancaster County, PA. He is at least somewhat Siamese, with cream lynx points. His coat is silky. His eyes are blue, but his pupils reflect a most amazing orange. As of May 2007 he's perhaps 9 months old.
One day in February 2007, we visited the foster home in order to check out a one-year-old traditional Siamese. While we didn't fancy him, the foster mom said that some kittens had just arrived that day. One of them was Bodhi, and he was just beautiful. Although he was shy, he was too good to pass up. We waited for quarantine to end and welcomed him on Good Friday. Now he's a loving companion and our official greeter. He's a little purr machine!
Elli came from a foster home in Sykesville, MD. The foster mom had 20 cats of her own and about as many more that she was temporarily hosting. We met them one evening in March. Elli quite forcefully selected us and told us she wanted us. We couldn't refuse! So Elli joined Bodhi here on Easter Sunday.
Elli is a bicolor domestic shorthair. She is slightly more assertive than Bodhi. Her eyes are yellow-green and her coat is coarser. She doesn't meow much, but she chirps like a bird a lot! She is around 14 months old.
When Elli and Bodhi met, at first there was a small amount of hissing. But soon, they were chasing each other and starting to bond. Now they are best buds.
