Three-Layer Paper Haunted House
Supplies: 2 pieces of black construction paper, 1 piece of yellow construction paper, haunted house-shaped cookie cutter, two-sided tape or glue, scissors, markers, Halloween stickers, etc.
How-to: Stack the 3 papers together. Using the cookie cutter, trace the shape onto the paper and then cut out. Cut doors and windows into both black pieces, but leave the doors on the hinges (cut top and side of door, then fold open). Sandwich the 3 papers together, with yellow in the middle. Draw ghosts, witches, cauldrons, pumpkins, bats, and other assorted creatures on the yellow paper (or use stickers) so that they can be seen through the open door and windows on each side of decoration. Tape pieces together and hang on glass door or window.
Variations: Use this house as one component of a Halloween mobile. Add construction paper bats (it’s easy if you have a bat-shaped cookie cutter; you just need to fold the wings), moon, headstones, pumpkins, witch on broomstick, ghosts (put a cotton ball inside a paper tissue and tie closed the neck), etc. Tie each component on its own string and hang on a hanger or sticks.
