Working-Class White: The Making and Unmaking of Race Relations Resources and Poor Neighborhoods Mario Small, a sociologist at Princeton, and I have analyzed the types of resources that are available, as well as the factors that influence their prevelance, in impoverished neighborhoods in every metropolitan area in the United States. The first paper based on our work together was published in Social Forces, March 2006, 84(3). More information is available on Mario Small's website. White Racial Identity Frank Samson and I have written a review article on white racial identity for the Annual Review of Sociology, August 2005, 31:245-261. Stanford users may access the article here. Race, Ethnicity and Eminence In a follow-up to a 1979 article by Stan LIeberson and Donna Carter, I analyzed rates of inclusion in Who's Who in America by race and ethnicity. Rates of black inclusion have not kept pace with the increasing rates of inclusion for other ethnic groups. This research was published in Sociological Forum 2002, 17(1).
