I am an assistant professor of
Sociology, affiliated with African
& African American Studies
, the
Center for Comparative Studies
in Race and Ethnicity
and the
program on Urban Studies. I
received my Ph.D. in Sociology
from Harvard University in 2001.

My research focuses upon the
ways in which race and class
interact in the contemporary
United States. I use a variety of
methodologies to analyze
race/class interactions, ranging
from participant observation to
statistical analyses of secondary
survey data and census data.
