Hanover Homeschoolers Baseball group meet every Tuesday at 4:30pm at the Pearson's Corner Elementary School ball field, located at 8290 New Ashcake Rd, 23116. Coaching is informal and we play with a tennis ball to avoid injuries. We are mostly focused on developing good sportsmanship, improving individual skills, and having fun.

Bowl America
Short Pump, 4400 Pouncey Tract Rd, is holding 12-week homeschool
bowling classes starting Wed., April 22 at 10am. The first 4 weeks will
be instructional, with a coach teaching the children how to hold the
ball and how to bowl correctly. The remaining 8 weeks will be set up as
a league, with teams and 3 children to each team. Each class will
consist of the children bowling 3 games. At the end of the class, each
child will receive a bowling ball.

Hampton Roads Generals are a Christian high school football team made up of homeschooled and private schooled young men, ages 13-18 from the Virginia Peninsula, Middle Peninsula, and surrounding areas. They practice in Gloucester and their games will begin in the Fall. Games will be played in Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Gloucester, and surrounding areas.

It is jam-packed with pre-gymnastics, structured games, songs and dances. Each registered child receives unlimited free plays in the gym. POGA (Premier Olympic Gymnatics Academy) 956 Richmond Tappahannock Hwy Ste B, Manquin, has two homeschool classes divided by age groups on Wednesdays: ages 3-4 from 10-11am, and school aged kids from 11-12pm. Horseriding/Horsemanship
Campbell Springs Equestrian Center is the premier facility in Chesterfield County providing Hunter, Jumper, Dressage and Eventing Lessons for riders of all ages. They offer lessons from beginner through advanced. The farm features a covered arena with climate controlled observation rooms, a large stadium arena, and a regulation sized dressage arena. Karen C., homeschool mom, is offering beginning horse riding lessons in Powhatan.Each lesson the kids spend as much time on the ground learning about horses, their care and grooming as they do riding. The lessons are fun (lots of games) and a mix of English, Western and trail riding. Karen offers both group and private lessons and has specialized plans for homeschoolers. Sue Shields and her homeschool alumni children, are offering horseback riding lessons and two camps at their home in New Kent. They offer English and Western lessons for ages 6-adult, beginner through intermediate. Cissy Williams is
offering Basic Horsemanship classes to homeschoolers at her farm in
Beaverdam, Va. outside Richmond starting in Jan. 2009. They will be
weekly 90 minute sessions lasting for 8 weeks. Help students develop
basic understanding and appreciation of horses, with topics including
care and feeding of horses, barn management, tack, and beginning riding.

Chesterfield Homeschool Sports will be offering coed soccer in the fall. They have teams with ages ranging from 5 to 18. They do play other teams but we are not extremely competitive and they stress equal play. They do enjoy winning but most importantly we encourage a Christian attitude and good sportsmanship. All parents are expected to volunteer in one way or another. They are meeting are meeting on Mondays & Wednesdays, September 14th to November 18th, 2:00-3:30pm, at Harry Daniels Park. Homeschool Soccer restarts on Oct 9 at 1pm at Camp Hanover, then every 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of the month. All ages, including parents are encouraged to play . Very laid back. In exchange for letting us play soccer after we finish playing soccer we generally do a "chore" for the camp which can range from crushing boxes to clearing trails (which basically means walking them and tossing sticks to the side) to washing windows. Generally ends sometime between 4pm and 5pm. Make sure to bring a water bottle and a snack. A change of clothes isn't a bad idea either in case anyone gets wet or muddy. Tennis
Play Tennis Hanover is offering homeschool tennis classes on Fridays,
9:30am at the Randolph-Macon tennis courts in Ashland. The
emphasis is on fun - with the main goal to give kids a love for the
lifelong sport of tennis so that they'll want to play for years and
years to come. Classes are run by a USPTA certified instructor (and mom
of 3!!) and are divided up according to age/skill, so all are welcome!!!
There is a 10% sibling discount, and all equipment is provided.
